We originally booked a room at Cheri Land River House but it turned out that this hotel does not have the license to house foreigners. The hotel helped us book another a room at a sister hotel called Wut Hmon Thit Guest House.
Wut Hmon Thit Guest House is a small roadside motel in Nyaung-U town in Bagan. The best thing about Wut Hmon Thit Guest House is its location on the main Lanmadaw 3 Road. There are eateries in every direction and the main local Mani Sithu Market is just a 10-minute walk away.
Wut Hmon Thit Guest House is an old-fashioned motel with wooden reception and chairs at the lobby. You have to leave your room key at the counter when you leave and retrieve it when you come back.
The standard twin-bed room cost us S$35 per night for 2 people. If you book on Agoda, it’s much cheaper. The room and sheets are clean with minimum amenities. Toilet is bare but tidy with a large space for showering.
There is complimentary breakfast every morning at the rooftop. It’s a simple breakfast of roasted bread, fried egg, bananas, fruit juice and coffee or tea.
Wut Hmon Thit Guest House is an excellent choice if you are just looking for a place to stay that has convenient location.
