My girlfriend and I discovered Suriya Land by accident. We arrived too early at Pattaya Floating Market and it was not open yet. We decided to explore the surrounding area on our rented motorcycle and chanced upon Suriya Land. The quirkiness of this place appealed to us so we decided to check it out.
Suriya Land, also known as Suriya Music or Suriya Music Art, used to be a music store run by a Thai company 20 years ago. It has now become half museum, half Japanese second hand store.
When you enter Suriya Land, you will see a giant guitar in the distance, flanked by Suriya Music Art cafe to the left and the store Suriya Land to the right.
The surrounding areas are filled with Instagram-worthy retro sculptures and structures. Check out the green version of London iconic red telephone booth, World War Two plane, huge hand sculptures and a giant guitar which you can actually climb.
The Suriya Music Art cafe to the left sells coffee, tea, Italian sodas and cooked food. The interior is decorated with vibrant colors and vintage items such as Ultraman figure and old-school radios.
The Suriya Land store is the main attraction, a two-level store filled with vintage (mainly Japanese) vintage stuff, second-hand items and knick- knacks. A few of the more note-worthy things to look out for are the dalmatian Harley-Davidson motorbike, Hello Kitty motorbike and a dark-brown female centaur made of screws and wires.
Suriya Music is a great spot to take Instagram-worthy pictures and chill in the Suriya Music Art cafe. Suriya Land will delight anyone who likes vintage Japanese knick-knacks.
