Sri Lanka, officially the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, was known as Ceylon during British colonial times. 

Theravada Buddhism is the largest and state religion of Sri Lanka practiced by 70.19% of Sri Lanka’s population. You will see many temples and pagodas.
