I was researching for good restaurants to try out in Sydney when TripAdvisor suggested Hurricane’s Grill. Hurricane’s Grill was awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence 2016 – 2018 and almost 80% of the 1187 reviews were either “excellent” or “very good”.
Many reviews say that it is THE restaurant for Sydney’s iconic pork and beef ribs. I decided to check it out for myself if it is really that good.
Reservation is a MUST, especially if you are going during the weekends. One day I arrived without a reservation in the evening and I was kindly but firmly turned away because they were fully booked for the day.
Hurricane Grill at Darling Harbor offers stunning view of the city skyline, making it the perfect place for families, couples and friends alike.
Hurricane’s Grill is famous for its beef and pork ribs, served with either chips, sweet potato fries, coleslaw or baked potato with sour cream and chives.
You can either choose to have full rack (1kg) or half rack (600g). The portions are huge in Australia, get the half rack if you want to try more dishes.
Beef Ribs and Lamb Ribs are both priced at AUD$49.50 for Full Rack and AUD$38 for Half Rack while Pork Ribs are a little more expensive at AUD$52 for Full Rack and AUD$41 for Half Rack.
The ribs are generously coated with their special recipe sauce and grilled till drop-off-the-bone tender. They remind me of the ribs I had at Morganfield (Suntec City).
Besides ribs, you can expect to find everything a steakhouse has to offer: combos, steaks, seafood, chicken, burgers and side orders.
I have not had enough ribs in Sydney to be able to conclude if Hurricane’s Grill ribs are the best, but they are definitely worth a try. If you can’t be bothered to make a reservation or wait, Pancakes On The Rocks at Hickson Road serves pancakes and ribs 24 hours.
Please refer to Hurricane’s Grill website for information on all 9 outlets. ”
