I have a habit of sending a postcard to myself from every country I visited. I intend to paste these postcards on a wall when I have fulfilled my goal of visiting every country. I have been to 20 countries so far and never had I had any problem sending a postcard except in Manila, Philippines. This is the first time I had to google “how to send postcards in Manila”, this is absurd! It’s almost as if the Philippines is trying to hide from the outside world.
I have already tried Manila Central Post Office, the place has been destroyed by a fire in May 2023. I could still buy stamps at 15 PHP from the small office that still functions, but strangely they don’t sell postcards.
Some netizens said the National Book Store in Robinsons Manila sell postcards, I checked it out but they don’t sell postcards anymore.
I didn’t visit the souvenir shops in Intramuros but I did try one souvenir shop in Manila Chinatown and they don’t sell any postcards either.
I finally managed to buy a postcard for 20 PHP from a small souvenir shop in the departure area of Manila Airport Terminal 1. There is even a post right outside the shop which is super convenient. I didn’t take a photo of the shop, it might be WH Smith but I can’t be certain.
On hindsight, I should have visited one of the PHLPost post offices, you can find the post office locations here. I am sure they sell postcards and stamps there.
